Mid-America Secures New Retail Leases in Chicago Area Totaling 49K Square Feet

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (May 5, 2016) –  Richard Spinell, principal of Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management Inc., announced that the firm recently secured five new retail leases on behalf of shopping centers in the Chicagoland area. Highlighted transactions are listed below in order of size.

Bloomington, Ill. (McLean County)DSW signed a lease for 16,337 square feet at Colonial Plaza located at the northwest corner of Veterans Parkway and Illinois Route 9 in Bloomington, Ill. The 241,340-square-foot center also includes tenants Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ashley Furniture and Cato Fashions. The location is expected to open August 2016. Mid-America Leasing Representative Samantha Schnell represented the landlord. Mike Schertler of Tartan Realty Group represented the tenant.

Bartlett, Ill. (DuPage County)The Endorphin Effect signed a lease for 13,000 square feet at Brewster Creek Centre located at the northeast corner of Route 59 and Stearns Road in Bartlett, Ill. The 41,945-square-foot center also includes tenants Sherwin-Williams, Subway and ATI Physical Therapy. The location is expected to open third quarter 2016. Mid-America Vice President Jaime Bertsche and Leasing Representative Maria Rossobillo represented the landlord. Michael Tootelian of Kale Realty represented the tenant.

Chicago (Cook County) Five Below signed a lease for 8,000 square feet at Ford City Mall at the northeast corner of 76th Street and Cicero Avenue in Chicago. The 661,644-square-foot mall is anchored by AMC Theatres, JCPenney, Carson’s, Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less and h.h. gregg. Mid-America Principal Marget Graham and Leasing Representatives Maria Rossobillo and Sarah Drumgould represented the landlord. Tim Miller and Steve Pilafas of Great Street Realty Partners represented the tenant.

Geneva, Ill. (Kane County) Talbots signed a lease for 6,675 square feet at Geneva Commons located south of the southeast corner of Randall and Bricher Roads in Geneva, Ill. The 437,546-square-foot center is anchored by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Crate & Barrel, Barnes & Noble and Forever 21. Mid-America Principal Marget Graham and Leasing Representative Samantha Schnell represented the landlord. The tenant was self-represented.

Hoffman Estates, Ill. (Cook County) Anytime Fitness signed a lease for 4,880 square feet at Hoffman Village located at the southeast corner of Golf and Barrington Roads in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The 159,443-square-foot center is anchored by Mariano’s and Goodwill. The location is expected to open in September 2016. Mid-America Principal Marget Graham and Leasing Representative Sarah Drumgould represented the landlord. Rob Runyon of Franchise Real Estate represented the tenant.
