OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (October 27, 2015) – Richard Spinell, principal of Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management Inc., announced that the firm recently secured four new retail leases on behalf of shopping centers in the Chicagoland area. Highlighted transactions are listed below in order of size.
Bloomington, Ill. (McLean County) – Dick’s Sporting Goods signed a lease for 49,957 square feet at Colonial Plaza located at the northwest corner of Veterans Parkway and Illinois Route 9 in Bloomington, Ill. The 241,340-square-foot center also includes tenants Ashley Furniture and Cato Fashions. The location is expected to open 3rd quarter 2016. Mid-America Vice President Katie Hennegan and Leasing Representative Samantha Spinell Schnell represented the landlord. Tim Miller and Jon Reese of Great Street Realty represented the tenant.
Lombard, Ill. (DuPage County) – Anytime Fitness signed a lease for 5,926 square feet at Highlands of Lombard at the northwest corner of Butterfield Road and Highland Avenue in Lombard, Ill. The 21,071-square-foot center includes tenants Potbelly Sandwich Works and Performance Bike, and is shadow-anchored by The Dump. The location is expected to open in December 2015. Mid-America Leasing Representatives Paige Schiesser, Samantha Spinell Schnell and Angela Gasbarro represented the landlord. Jim Runyon of Franchise Real Estate represented the tenant.
Chicago (Cook County) – Jimmy Jazz signed a lease for 4,811 square feet at Ford City Mall at the northeast corner of 76th Street and Cicero Avenue in Chicago. The 661,644-square-foot mall is anchored by AMC Theatres, JCPenney, Carson’s, Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less and h.h. gregg. Mid-America Principal Marget Graham and Leasing Representatives Maria Rossobillo and Sarah Drumgould represented the landlord. The tenant was self-represented.
DeKalb, Ill. (DeKalb County) – Athletico signed a lease for 3,965 square feet at Oakland Place located at Sycamore and Barber Greene Roads in DeKalb, Ill. The 155,730-square-foot center is anchored by Michaels, TJ Maxx, Super Target, DSW and Pier 1 Imports. The location is expected to open in January 2016. Mid-America Vice President Katie Hennegan and Leasing Representative Paige Schiesser represented the landlord. Hyatt Thompson of Swearingen Realty Group, LLC represented the tenant.
