Mid-America Secures New Retail Leases in Chicago Area Totaling 31K Square Feet

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (March 19, 2015) –  Richard Spinell, principal of Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management Inc., announced that the firm recently secured five new retail leases on behalf of shopping centers in the Chicagoland area. Highlighted transactions are listed below.

Northbrook, Ill. (Cook County)Old Navy signed a lease for 16,295 square feet at Village Square of Northbrook located at the southeast corner of Lake Cook and Skokie Roads in Northbrook, Ill. The 334,955-square-foot center is anchored by Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s, The Container Store, Cost Plus World Market, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, DSW, TJ Maxx, and Party City. Mid-America Vice President Liz Krebs represented the landlord. Skip Martin of EnVision Realty Advisors represented the tenant.

Chicago (Cook County) Simply Fashion signed a lease for 6,000 square feet at Bricktown Square at the northwest corner of Fullerton and Narragansett Avenues in Chicago. The 277,489-square-foot center is anchored by Party City, Aldi, Walgreens, Dollar Tree, Babies ‘R’ Us, and Sports Authority. The location opened in February. Mid-America Vice President Jaime Bertsche and Leasing Representative Maria Rossobillo represented the landlord. Todd Cabanban of Cabanban Rubin and Mayberry Commercial Realty represented the tenant.

Huntley, Ill. (Kane County) Chiro One signed a lease for 3,200 square feet at Huntley Village Green at the southeast corner of Route 47 and Oak Creek Parkway in Huntley, Ill. The 22,200-square-foot center is anchored by Jewel Osco. Chiro One is expected to open in May 2015. Mid-America Leasing Representatives Paige Schiesser and Samantha Spinell represented the landlord. Dean Vlahos of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the tenant.

Chicago (Cook County) Aayu Clinics signed a lease for 3,190 square feet at 1601 West Division Street located at the corner of Division and Ashland in Chicago. Area retailers include Intelligentsia, PNC, CVS Pharmacy, The Bedford, Fatpour, and Carriage House. The location is expected to open in May 2015. Mid-America Vice President Jaime Bertsche and Leasing Representative Samantha Spinell represented the landlord.

Niles, Ill. (Cook County) Blaze Pizza signed a lease for 2,133 square feet at Pointe Plaza at the northeast corner of Central and Touhy Avenues in Niles, Ill. The 193,011-square-foot center is anchored by Walmart, Walgreens, Ross Dress for Less, and Babies ‘R’ Us. Blaze Pizza is expected to open summer 2015. Mid-America Vice President Katie Hennegan and Leasing Representative Sarah Drumgould represented the landlord. Allen Joffe of Baum Realty represented the tenant.
