With a specialized focus on Tenant Representation for Mid-America Real Estate Corporation, William Hoag has been responsible for numerous market rollouts throughout the Midwest. Adept in Regional and National Tenant Representation, consulting category leaders, and emerging brands alike in fitness, food, medical-retail, and recreational fields, Hoag leads an experienced team in pursuit of the innovative and category-disruptive clients that can assist to sustain and improve the changing retail real estate landscape. Hoag’s expertise of both the near urban and suburban markets of Chicagoland and major Midwest markets has allowed him to coordinate efforts for retailers new to the Chicago market, as well as existing retailers who seek to change strategy or re-brand themselves through their real estate efforts.
Hoag has been with Mid-America for thirteen years, and represents a number of national retail chains including mid-boxes such as LA Fitness throughout their 50-club and counting footprint and Bob’s Discount Furniture throughout the Midwest. Hoag has focused on medical retail rollouts over the past ten years, including Aspen Dental and national representation of ATI Physical Therapy and Oak Street Heath. He led the Sleepy’s (prior to Mattress Firm acquiring the company in 2014) suburban rollout from 2011 to 2013, assisting site selection and negotiations for 80 of their 110 store openings during that time.
Hoag is a graduate of Boston College with a B.A. in English. He is affiliated with the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute (CCIM) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He has represented numerous other mid box tenants including Golfsmith and Heinen’s in evaluating relocation, lease renewals and dispositions throughout Illinois, Indiana and Iowa. He is also an expert in central and southern Illinois markets.
