Brian Adams joined Mid-America Real Estate Corporation in 2005 and is a licensed managing broker in the State of Illinois. He specializes in tenant representation (restaurants), landlord representation and property disposition.
Throughout his career, Mr. Adams has focused on providing detailed market research and development strategies for local entrepreneurs and international restaurateurs evaluating the Chicagoland DMA, as well as Northwest Indiana and Southern-Central Illinois. Through his efforts and emphasis on the restaurant industry, he has successfully executed market development plans across a variety of restaurant segments.
Brian has conducted thorough market analysis, site selection and negotiations for market-leading dining operators such as True Food Kitchen, Cooper’s Hawk Winery, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bloomin Brands (Fleming’s, Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s Italian Grill), Chili’s, Granite City Food & Brewery and Ted’s Montana Grill. Among the fast-casual segment, Brian has experience with trend-setting and distinguished concepts by executing development plans for Chipotle, Nando’s Peri-Peri, First Watch, Cava Grill, Five Guys, Portillo’s, Mission BBQ, Noodles & Co. and Jason’s Deli. Understanding nuances to certain operators business models and identifying viable markets while minimizing multi-unit development cannibalization is essential to success. Some examples of other clients that require a stronger understanding of particular critical traits include; Sonic Drive-In, Smoothie King, Main Event and Giordano’s.
In Brian’s time with Mid-America Real Estate he has lead leasing efforts for numerous ground up multi-tenant building developments, redevelopments of existing shopping centers, power center developments, and single-use disposition. Landlord representation assignments have come from a diverse range of property owners ranging from REIT’s to Private Investors such as American Realty Advisors, The John Buck Company, Harlem Irving Partners, and Centrum Partners and Shorewood Development. His depth in market knowledge across all categories of retail-oriented users and tenants helps provide the client to gain a stronger sense for the potential upside of a transaction and addressing possible challenges and constraints.
Brian resides in Wicker Park with his wife, Erin, daughter, Evelyn, and loving dog Lucy. Erin owns and operates a Boutique Spa in Ukranian Village. Brian and Erin are passionate about traveling and exploring the world with recent trips to Australia, Africa and Western Europe. Brian is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Co-Chair of the Restaurant Council for the Chain Links Organization. Brian is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington.
