Mid-America Signs Language Stars to Bannockburn Green on Chicago’s North Shore

BANNOCBURN, Ill.  (August 11, 2009) – Language Stars, the Chicagoland educational chain that fosters multilingual skills in children, recently signed a lease for 2,998 square feet at Bannockburn Green in Bannockburn, Ill., according to Richard Spinell, Principal of Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management, Inc., the retail center’s exclusive leasing representative. The independent is relocating its Deerfield/Northbrook learning center to Bannockburn Green, with plans to open in September 2009. Other locations are in Arlington Heights, Barrington, Hinsdale/Oak Brook, Lincoln Park, Naperville, and Wilmette/Evanston, with two satellite centers in Homewood/Flossmoor and Park Ridge.

Language Stars offers play-based, full immersion language programs to children in Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Mandarin Chinese. Formats include classes for toddlers with parents, interactive foreign language classes for children age 3- to 10-years-old, and summer language camps.

Mid-America Vice Presidents Liz Krebs and Marget Graham and Senior Leasing Representative Kitsy Ritter handled the lease on behalf of the landlord, while Alex Pappas of Pappas Real Estate Partnership represented the tenant.   

In other news at Bannockburn Green, leases were renewed with Newport Coffee for 1,809 square feet, which opened at the center in 2005, and GNC for 1,513 square feet, which opened in 1997.

Bannockburn Green is a 176,216 square-foot lifestyle/convenience center located on the southeast corner of Waukegan Road (Rt. 43) and Half Day Road (Rt. 22). Anchors include Dominick’s, Erehwon Mountain Outfitters, Walgreens, and Panera Bread.
