
MT. PROSPECT, Ill. (December 8, 2009) – Brooklyn-based Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union (PSFCU) enters Illinois with a lease signed for 4,326 square feet at Mt. Prospect Plaza in Mt. Prospect, Ill, and is planning to open at the beginning of 2010, according to Richard Spinell, Principal of Oakbrook Terrace-based Mid-America Asset Management, Inc., the center’s exclusive leasing representative.
The independently owned union was founded in 1976 by a group of Polish immigrants to help other ethnic Poles obtain mortgages, and currently lists 11 branches in New York and New Jersey, and an operations center in Fairfield, NJ. PSFCU is the largest ethnic credit union in the United States.
Mid-America Senior Leasing Representative Mary Beth Menelli represented the landlord in the transaction, dealing directly with the tenant. Mt. Prospect Plaza is a 299,300 square foot retail center anchored by a Marshalls, Staples, Garden Fresh Market, and Michaels. The center is located in the Randhurst Mall regional trade area, on the northwest corner of Rand and Central Roads in Mt. Prospect, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
